During law school Birmingham divorce attorney Jessica Chang interned for a domestic relations attorney and knew immediately that she wanted to pursue a career in family law.
“I know I practice in what others may perceive as an area of the law that they cannot imagine doing,” Ms. Chang said. “However, practicing family law has allowed me to have meaning and purpose in my career. It has also allowed me to directly see improvement to people’s lives and witness people become stronger and better individuals, and I live for those moments when the judge enters a ruling after a trial or hearing awarding my clients more time to be with their children and more ways to be a part of their children’s lives.”
Ms. Chang promises her clients blatant honesty about the strengths and weaknesses of their case. She may not always tell her clients what they want to hear, but what they need to hear.
“I believe it is important to manage the expectations of my clients from the outset by providing them with reasonable assessments of their situations,” she said. “I strive to provide my clients with honest support, and it has to work both ways for us to have a chance to reach the best outcome for their case.”
