Cordell & Cordell’s Summer Associate Program is designed to give you valuable experience in practicing family law and prepare you for a successful career track in domestic litigation. As a summer associate you will learn alongside the skilled attorneys and partners of a national domestic litigation firm—as they work to achieve the best outcomes for our clients.

Position At A Glance
The Cordell Summer Associate Program gives you the insight and real-client experience of a first-year associate—with exposure to a wide range of family law situations. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop professional relationships within the firm and network contacts through industry social events.
As a Cordell Summer Associate You Will:
- Gain valuable exposure and experience in family law
- Work closely with attorneys and firm partners
- Receive timely, actionable feedback on your progress
- Develop professional industry relationships
Your Responsibilities As An Associate Will Include:
- Drafting and analyzing legal documents
- Client contact and communication
- Accompanying accomplished attorneys in court appearances
- Assisting in trial preparation
- Conducting legal research
- Working closely with assigned Litigation or Practice Manager to ensure continued quality and growth
Your Requirements For Application Are:
- Current 2L student at an accredited law school
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- A demonstrated interest in practicing family law upon graduation
- Willingness and capability to relocate is strongly preferred
