Growing up, Tomekia Lee-Chaney experienced firsthand the effects of a divorce. She vowed to become a family law attorney at first thinking divorce attorneys help reconcile marriages. But as the years progressed she learned lawyers are actually there to minimize the effects of a divorce.
“I chose to remain steadfast in my dreams to practice family law, but to do so in a manner that would cause the least amount of change and hardship for children who are now like I was once before,” Ms. Lee-Chaney said.
She is a trial attorney by nature and loves being in the courtroom.
“Anytime I have the ability to try a contested family matter, I never miss the opportunity,” Ms. Lee-Chaney said. “I am a trial litigator who advocates for my client without any hesitation.”

“Tomekia is fantastic! She has guided me through a difficult process and having her on my side has made me feel safe. She is tough but also caring and when I talk to her it feels like I’m talking to a family member. I could not have asked for a better person to represent me.”
— D.S.
“I must say that everything Ms. Lee-Chaney touched was done exceptionally well! She was always so personable and trusting. I almost felt like I had a new friend- which was honestly the hardest part about bringing our case to an end. She is an awesome attorney but more than that, she is simply an amazing PERSON! Your firm has a Jewel in her and I truly hope you realize that! Thanks again and I appreciate the opportunity to say that! Blessings to you ALL!”

“I’m really happy with everything. Tomekia was great. She took care of business, and I really appreciated her efficiency. I never felt like I wasn’t unfairly billed for her time. She was very conscious of my concerns. Never once did I feel like I was nickel and dimed, which was important to me. There were very few times she need to make a correction or re-do something, but if there was a re-do she just did it and as far as I know it was done without charging me. She is very client focused. Another thing she did that’s worth mentioning is that she took over my case from another attorney that left the firm . Tomekia came on the case, looked everything over and moved my case right along. I appreciated that approach and how quick she moved the case forward. I liked that, she took care of business.”
— Richard A.
“I love my attorney. She walks on water. Tomekia got me a whole lot better than, and if she called me today telling me she was on the side of the road with a flat tire, I wouldn’t think twice about coming to help her. The word ‘like’ is such a weak word compared to how impressed I am with her. If you were to ask me to rate her on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 is not good enough.”
— Jon F.
“Tomekia is wonderful! The Dallas firm is wonderful. The front desk receptionist is caring, compassionate and a wonderful first interface with new clients. Tomekia was just top rate. She fought for me. Cindy and Christy were both wonderful. Christy was so quick with the turn around on things I needed. I was especially impressed.”
— D.M.
“I want you all to know that everyone from the corporate staff in Missouri to the attorneys in Texas went above and beyond in my case. Special mention goes to [my attorney]. My case was transferred … because of a change in jurisdiction. [My attorney] did not continue with my case officially but still kept in touch with me and took time to call to see how I was doing. …”

She was competent, very pleasant, extremely client-focused, very focused on keeping fees under control, and most importantly, willing to hear me out when I was extremely angry and frustrated at how poorly men are treated in Texas family courts.
