Six Cordell & Cordell divorce attorneys from Texas and New Jersey recently were named Rising Stars in the family law practice area by Super Lawyers Magazine.
Amanda Clepper Harrison, Tomekia Lee-Chaney, and Julianne Morgan were named to the Texas Rising Stars List while Michelle Ferreri, Lauren Hagovsky, and Diana Megalla earned the distinction in New Jersey.
Ms. Lee-Chaney and Ms. Morgan work out of Cordell & Cordell’s Dallas office. This is the fifth consecutive year Ms. Morgan has earned the award and the fourth straight year for Ms. Lee-Chaney. Ms. Clepper Harrison, a San Antonio divorce lawyer, garnered the accolade for the sixth year in a row.
The three New Jersey attorneys all practice out of Cordell & Cordell’s Mount Laurel office. This is a first-time honor for Ms. Hagovsky and Ms. Megalla, while Ms. Ferreri made the list for the ninth time and sixth straight year.
Super Lawyers is a Thomson Reuters rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional development. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in each state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers for the distinction.
The annual Rising Stars selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive, and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys.
Lawyers are asked to nominate the best lawyers age 40 or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. They are advised to select attorneys they have personally observed in action – whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through other firsthand courtroom observation.
