Dallas Attorney Tomekia Lee-Chaney Receives Board Certification
The Texas Board of Legal Specialization recently announced that Cordell & Cordell Dallas divorce attorney Tomekia Lee-Chaney received Board Certification in Family Law, an honor less than 10 percent of Texas attorneys claim.
Board Certification is a voluntary designation program certifying Texas attorneys in 21 specific areas of law. Board Certified attorneys must be licensed for at least five years, devote a requited percentage of practice to a specialty area for at least three years, attend continuing education seminars, pass an evaluation by fellow lawyers and judges, and pass a 6-hour written examination.
Ms. Lee-Chaney, who is a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, was recognized in 2016 and 2017 as a Rising Star in the family law practice area by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters rating service of outstanding lawyers. She earned her Juris Doctor while graduating cum laude from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
