Boulder divorce attorney Jessica Trillo developed an interest in family law while working as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Stephen Jourard. During her time as a clerk, she would sit in on the domestic relations docket and assist with drafting the orders from the hearings.
“I found the hearings and the thought process behind the order very interesting,” Ms. Trillo said. “While practicing family law, I’ve been able to use that knowledge to help guide people through the family court waters.”
Many people are unfamiliar with the court system and a lot of people’s first meeting with an attorney is when there is a family law issues. Family court issues are almost always emotional in one way or another – a fact that is not lost on Ms. Trillo.
“Being compassionate to those feelings helps me to connect with my clients, understand their needs, and be a strong advocate for them during the process,” she said.
The divorce process can be slow and patience and communication are key to getting through it.
“I will do everything I can to keep the case moving along and the client informed of everything going on in their case,” Ms. Trillo said.
