Senior Litigation Attorney

Midvale divorce attorney Heather Bradley Shilton’s decision to join the team at Cordell & Cordell brought her career path in law full circle.

She possesses more than 20 years of legal experience and public service as a state assistant attorney general assigned as in-house counsel, and prosecution and defense attorney for state agencies mandated to develop and manage public lands and natural resources. However, she started her career in law and public service representing the Office of Recovery Services. For two years, she did her best to whittle down a load of over 300 cases by establishing and enforcing child support and paternity orders and appearing before domestic commissioners and judges in district court, juvenile court, and administrative proceedings.

Despite that winding road, she sees a familiar landscape as she refocuses her career on family law.

“Surprisingly, there have been few changes in family law during my 20-year hiatus litigating contract disputes over park concessions, land use regulation and water right adjudications,” Ms. Bradley Shilton said. “For the most part, the rules governing practice and appearances before domestic commissioners and judges in district court have remained the same.”

She derives immense personal satisfaction from helping her clients in private practice at Cordell & Cordell and takes great pride in producing high quality work product under its litigation system.

“It’s truly an honor and privilege to work with such a skilled team of legal professionals,” she said.
