Lisa K. Garza

Senior Litigation Attorney

Independence divorce attorney Lisa GarzaIndependence divorce attorney Lisa Garza realizes that family law thrusts individuals into a complicated legal system and she believes that navigating the courts alone puts too much at risk. She finds providing legal counsel and guidance rewarding because it allows her to reduce risks for those who must rely on the court system to resolve contested issues.

“Family law is like no other law,” Ms. Garza said. “Each case must be analyzed individually, and there is no one-size-fits-all strategy. I am a fiduciary to each person who puts their trust in me to assist them through the process. I only do what is in the best interest of each client.”

Ms. Garza does not shy away from complicated jurisdictional issues. She has litigated move-away cases under the UCCJEA and kidnapping cases under UCAPA. She also has defended protection order cases at the Kansas Court of Appeals.

She believes active listening is key regardless of the case she is working.

“Good communication and working closely with each client to achieve their best possible outcome governs every step I take,” she said.
