Laura E. Smith - A Cordell & Cordell Independence Divorce Attorney

Laura E. Smith

Senior Litigation Attorney

Independence divorce attorney Laura E. SmithIndependence divorce attorney Laura E. Smith’s primary motivation in practicing family law is the opportunity it gives her to help people through a challenging time. That is what gives her the greatest sense of professional satisfaction.

“I have a great empathy for my clients, and I recognize that they are going through the most emotional time in their life,” she said.

Particularly when children are involved, Ms. Smith generally advises clients to take a measured approach during the initial stages of the case. If there is a need to get aggressive, Ms. Smith loves to go to court and litigate, but her main focus is on what is in the best interest of the children.

“If we can decrease hostility in the co-parenting relationship and improve communication, that will generally make life better for both you and the children,” she said.
