“As a child of divorce, I am able to empathize with my client and their children on a different level,” she said. “I understand the challenges both parents and children face after the divorce decree is issued, specifically, how the parenting plan affects them on a daily basis.”

Any family law matter, whether pre- or post-decree, is very overwhelming and frustrating. However, Ms. Workman’s clients do not need to worry about the details or deadlines.

“I will handle all of that,” she said. “They just need to focus on themselves and their family and I will work hard to achieve the best possible outcome in their case.”

Ms. Workman received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She earned her Juris Doctor from Charlotte School of Law and the University of Colorado at Boulder (visiting student).

Professional Experience

Prior to joining Cordell & Cordell, Ms. Workman practiced 85% family law – adoptions, divorce, child custody, post-decree, pre-/post-nuptial agreements, etc. – and 10% record sealing and 5% estate planning.

During law school, she practiced at two family law firms in North Carolina and worked in the Dependency, Abuse, and Neglect Clinic working with parents who were involved with the Department of Human Services.
