Super LawyersMore than a half-dozen Cordell & Cordell divorce attorneys recently were recognized as Rising Stars in the family law practice area by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters rating service of outstanding lawyers.

Michael Strebe, Theresita Perez, Jason Hopper, and Jeffrey Hannah were named Northern California Rising Stars, while Alison Morriss and Lisa Karges received the honor in Florida. Meghan Wolf and Nancy Shannon earned the distinction in Nebraska.

Mr. Strebe and Ms. Perez, who work out of the firm’s San Mateo office, earned the award for the first time. This was the sixth time Mr. Hopper was named to the list and the first time for Mr. Hannah, both of whom are in the firm’s Sacramento office.

Ms. Morriss (Miami) received the honor for the second time, while Ms. Karges (Tampa) was added to the list for the fifth consecutive year.

This was the third year in a row Ms. Shannon was named a Rising Star and the first year for Ms. Wolf, both of whom are in the firm’s Omaha office.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have obtained a high degree of peer recognition and professional development.

The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive, and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.

For the Rising Stars list, lawyers are asked to nominate the best attorneys who are age 40 or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. They are instructed to nominate lawyers they have personally observed in action – whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through other firsthand courtroom observation.

The lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyers Magazine, and in leading city and regional magazines and newspapers across the country. For more information, visit SuperLawyers.com.
