Phyllis MacCutcheon Appears On 94.9 FM-Hartford
Cordell & Cordell Hartford divorce attorney Phyllis L. MacCutcheon recently appeared on “Yes, It’s Complicated” with host Ben Davol on 94.9 FM CBS Radio to discuss the firm’s expansion to Connecticut and overall mission.
Cordell & Cordell opened its first office in Hartford earlier this month, marking the firm’s seventh new-office opening in 2017.
Ms. MacCutcheon explained how it is Cordell & Cordell’s goal to guide men and fathers through divorce.
“I get a broad spectrum of guys who come into my office,” Ms. MacCutcheon said. “I get the angry, ‘I want to go after mom and I want custody,’ all the way to the already defeated. … My job is to give the argument and convince them that yes you can (win custody) and here’s how we’re going to do it for you. Because at Cordell & Cordell, we’ve got that down.”
Ms. MacCutcheon also explained that more and more fathers are staying home to raise their kids while moms are advancing further in the workplace. However, family courts have been slow to recognize this changing dynamic.
“When it comes to divorce, courts still see the working mom and stay-at-home dad as mom gets custody and dad gets visitation despite the fact that it has been the opposite throughout the kids’ entire lives,” she said.
