Jennifer Albano

Tampa divorce lawyer Jennifer Albano decided she wanted to practice family law before she even started law school. As an undergraduate, she realized she wanted to practice in an area of law where she could assist children and families during difficult times in their lives.

Ms. Albano takes an honest approach with each of her clients. She provides them with all of their options so they can make informed decisions on how to proceed with their case.

With her focus devoted exclusively to family law, she’s developed an astute understanding of the complexities of divorce and what needs to be done to provide a support system for each of her clients.

“As an attorney who has practiced exclusively in the area of family law, I understand that a dissolution of marriage is a difficult and emotional time for all involved,” Ms. Albano said. “As my client’s advocate, I will be there throughout the litigation to be supportive and provide them with the competent advice and counsel they need to complete their action with the best results possible.”

Amanda Diplan

Florida divorce attorney Amanda Diplan is devoted to making sure each of her clients gets a fair shake in court.

Because divorce is often the most emotionally draining experience of one’s life, Ms. Diplan chooses to practice family law. She wants to do everything she can to help individuals in difficult situations with their families retain all the rights afforded to him or them.

When asked what single characteristic or trait helps her the most when it comes to practicing family law, Ms. Diplan doesn’t hesitate.

“Motivated,” she said. “Motivated to ensure that my client understands the process they are enduring. And motivated to seek equal treatment to my client.”

Lisa F. Karges

The emotionally complex issues family law presents are what Lisa F. Karges found appealing about representing men in divorce.

“Unlike other areas of law I feel personal satisfaction in knowing that I actually help people by obtaining definitive positive results that impact their entire lives,” she said.

One case that had a huge impact on a client’s life was Ms. Karges’ ability to obtain primary custody for a father who had been systematically shut out of his children’s lives for years because of the mother’s actions.

“There is no simple or easy divorce,” Ms. Karges said. “In order to obtain successful results, the attorney and client must constantly work together throughout the process to develop a strategy, communicate, and prepare for all circumstances.”

Ms. Karges has extensive litigation experience in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee and Sarasota counties. Ms. Karges has developed many professional relationships within these local areas including guardian ad litems, parenting evaluators, psychologists, forensic accountants and mediators which allow her to better serve our clients at Cordell & Cordell.

Ms. Karges has helped to develop the firm’s internal educational programs including implementation of a trial school course where attorneys learn to enhance their litigation practice through hands on development of trial skills. Ms. Karges has worked throughout her career to be a mentor to young lawyers and work directly with attorneys within the firm to enhance their day to day practice and courtroom skills so that they can better serve the clients at Cordell & Cordell.
