About Eric Riviera-Jurado, Senior Counsel
Eric Riviera-Jurado is a bi-lingual (Spanish) attorney who has been exclusively practicing family law for more than 7 years. Before joining Cordell and Cordell, Mr. Riviera-Jurado worked with the law offices of Schank & Associates. His representation focused on complex custody and financial matters incident to divorce. Before that, he represented victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking regardless of sex, sexual orientation, or status. In this work Mr. Riviera-Jurado has gained extensive experience defending and advocating for Domestic Violence Restraining Orders (DVROs), Elder Abuse Restraining Orders (EAROs), and complex custody disputes. He has also guided clients through divorce cases from initial filing to finalization of judgement, including multi-faceted discovery and deposition defense.
Mr. Riviera-Jurado approaches each case with sensitivity, empathy, and strategy from inception to finalization. He seeks creative solutions where possible while maintaining a ready position should litigation be required to resolve a dispute. He is known for his professionalism and diligent advocacy for his clients.
Mr. Riviera-Jurado graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He received multiple Dean’s Honor Roll Awards for his academic performance. He graduated from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law with a Juris Doctorate and a certificate in Public Policy. He passed the California State Bar Exam on his first attempt.
Married since 2016 he loves spending time with his wife, soon-to-be-born son, family, cooking, DnD, and exercise.
