Cordell & Cordell CIO Tom Bennett Quoted Among IT Experts In St. Louis Business Journal
Cordell & Cordell Chief Information Officer Tom Bennett was recently interviewed for a story that ran in the November 7-13 issue of the St. Louis Business Journal.
In the article, “Service, problem solving mark a good tech firm,” reporter Mary Shapiro spoke with several local experts about what companies should look for when evaluating a technology consulting firm.
“Unless the engagement is very brief, a technology consulting firm should understand your business objectives as well as the technical parameters, said Tom Bennett, chief information officer with Cordell & Cordell, a domestic litigation firm representing men in divorce.
“‘For critical technology projects, you are looking for a vendor who is truly a partner,’ he said. ‘They should be open with their processes and provide plenty of information on how the process will occur.’
“Ensure that information transfer is part of the process. ‘After the consulting engagement is completed, your staff will typically be responsible for maintaining the systems or programs developed,’ he said. ‘With a successful information transfer, you do not become unnecessarily reliant on the consulting firm.’”
