Cordell & Cordell Omaha divorce attorney Christopher Pomerleau has been selected to the 2015 Great Plains Rising Stars List by Super Lawyers Magazine. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.
Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Mr. Pomerleau, an associate attorney in the firm’s Omaha office, was selected to be on the list for the first time. In 2014, Mr. Pomerleau was named the firm’s Rookie of the Year. He was awarded the Severens-Mayer Award for Excellence in Mediation and named best mediator while attending Creighton University Law School.
The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.
Lawyers are asked to nominate the best attorneys who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. They are instructed to nominate lawyers they have personally observed in action — whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through other firsthand courtroom observation.
