About Penny J. Hirsch, Senior Litigation Attorney
Charlotte divorce attorney Penny J. Hirsch feels that family law is one of the few areas of law she can work closely with a client to have a real, immediate, positive, and everlasting impact on their life.
“Dealing with the dissolution of a marriage is one of the most difficult times in a person’s life, both financially and emotionally, particularly when children are involved,” Ms. Hirsch said. “Having been through a divorce myself, I have the knowledge, compassion, and empathy to help clients through this difficult time.”
As a former eighth-grade math teacher, Ms. Hirsch is patient and engaging as she uses her critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills to educate her clients and further their goals.
She believes that open and honest communication is key to success in family law.
“My client should feel comfortable communicating with me regarding his or her goals and expectations as well as any concerns and questions they have,” she said. “In exchange, my client should expect clear and frequent communications from me regarding the status of their case.”

Ms. Hirsch is licensed to practice in North Carolina, New York, and Massachusetts.
Education
Ms. Hirsch earned her Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of South Carolina and her teaching certificate from the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Cordell & Cordell, Ms. Hirsch practiced family law, general litigation, commercial litigation, and was a member of a complex litigation practice group.
