About Jerrad R. Ahrens, Managing Partner
Jerrad R. Ahrens enjoys helping others in difficult situations, particularly custody disputes. His most satisfying cases are when the father is awarded custody of his children.
“The norm is for the court to award the mother custody so it is always nice to be able to help a father stay as actively involved in his child’s life as possible,” Mr. Ahrens said.
Mr. Ahrens said he tries to be a calming influence for clients who find themselves in tense and complex situations. It is his job as a family law attorney to make sure his clients have a clear understanding of all potential issues and possibilities.
“This will enable you to make informed decisions and have an active role in your case,” he said.
Licenses
Mr. Ahrens is licensed in Nebraska and Iowa and admitted to practice in the United States District Court of Nebraska.
Education
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science from Doane College; Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University. While an undergrad, Mr. Ahrens made the Doane College Dean’s List.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Cordell & Cordell, Mr. Ahrens gained experience in various areas of law, including family law, civil litigation, criminal defense, wills and trusts, and the formation of corporate entities.

Mr. Ahrens was quoted in an Associated Press article regarding a new bill that would clarify the state’s law on protection orders.
