Charles A. de Azagra enjoys family law as it can be a very challenging career, and often requires a nebulous and nuanced understanding of both the law and its procedures to give a client the best opportunity for a great result in their case.
Mr Azagra’s defining characteristic is, “client gets ‘all of me’ as their attorney. ”
“While the litigation process is often longer, more complex, and less intuitive than most clients initially expect when they meet with me for the first time, I have the required determination to zealously and competently advocate for my client’s best interests from the very beginning of their case to the very end — and beyond. My experience has shown that this quality in an attorney can make an extremely positive difference in a client’s case. ”

Professional Experience
Prior to joining Cordell & Cordell, he worked at a small, “boutique” law firm primarily practicing family law and criminal defense. At that same firm he gained experience in estate planning as well as business contracting (lease & asset transfer agreements; Last Wills & Testaments; Powers of Attorney) as well as miscellaneous civil litigation matters (breach of contract; breach of lease; personal injury).
He’s had an interest in practicing family law since taking a family law class in law school. He became President of the George Mason Family Law Society in my 3L year because he saw the potential for a rewarding and challenging career helping clients and their families through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Making a difference for others has always been a primary career goal of mine, and ultimately was a strong reason why he decided to go to law school. He’s been practicing family law since graduating law school and becoming a licensed attorney in Virginia – and he looks forward to continuing to grow my professional expertise in this legal practice area.
