Three Cordell & Cordell Attorneys Recognized By Super Lawyers
Cordell & Cordell Texas attorneys Kelly L. Burris and Maribel Cruz were recently named Super Lawyers while Michigan attorney Jill A. Duffy was recognized as a Rising Star in the family law practice area by Super Lawyers Magazine, a Thomson Reuters rating service of outstanding lawyers.
Ms. Burris, who works out of Cordell & Cordell’s San Antonio office, was named a Rising Star from 2004-06 and 2008-14 before being named a Super Lawyer this year. Ms. Cruz, who is a Lead Litigator in the firm’s San Antonio office, was previously named a Rising Star in 2014.
Ms. Duffy, a Litigation Manager in the firm’s Troy office, has been named a Rising Star for four consecutive years.
The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.
To determine Rising Stars, lawyers are asked to nominate the best attorneys who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. They are instructed to nominate lawyers they have personally observed in action — whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through other firsthand courtroom observation.
