Cordell & Cordell Co-Founder and Principal Partner Joseph E. Cordell was recently named to the Missouri Lawyers Media Power List for his leadership within the Missouri legal community.

Mr. Cordell has dedicated is legal career to representing fathers, whether they are going through a divorce, seeking child custody, or trying to resolve paternity matters. He and his wife, Yvonne, started the firm in 1990, shortly after he received his law degree from the University of Texas. Today, the firm focuses solely on family law with more than 200 attorneys in more than 100 offices nationwide and in the United Kingdom. He now focuses his efforts on the business side of his firm, and in 2018 he established Cordell Planning Partners, an elder law firm.
Mr. Cordell also is a CPA and holds a Master of Laws degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where is an adjunct faculty member. He is a former president of the American Academy of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants and was named president of the group’s Missouri chapter in 2017.
Missouri Lawyers Media honored him as part of the ICON Awards in 2019.
