Joe Cordell, Kristin Zurek Discuss Family Law On Today’s Issues
Cordell & Cordell Principal Partner Joe Cordell and Litigation Partner Kristin Zurek recently appeared on an episode of Today’s Issues to discuss a number of family law issues and how they relate to Cordell & Cordell’s mission of protecting men during divorce.
Mr. Cordell explained that even though the firm is dedicated to representing men through the divorce process, he still believes divorce should only be considered a final option.
“The reality is we are believers that to the extent that you can save your marriage, you should,” Mr. Cordell said, “and I think everyone profits, not only the people directly involved, but indirectly all of us. But the reality is not all marriages can be saved, and to the extent that a guy, especially, becomes involved in a divorce he has to really struggle to assure he’s given equal treatment in the courtroom and that’s the interest we are dedicated to as a firm.”
Ms. Zurek echoed Mr. Cordell’s sentiments while noting how emotionally grueling the decision process can be.
“It’s such a personal decision to have to make to be able to quit a marriage,” Ms. Zurek said. “You have to think about your own emotions, your faith base, wherever you’re coming from as to whether or not this is what you want,” she said.
