Cordell & Cordell’s expansion to Richmond, Va., was recently covered by Richmond BizSense, a publication that covers the area’s business news.
Earlier this month, Cordell & Cordell opened a new office in Richmond and three other cities and is planning further expansion throughout 2017. Cordell & Cordell Managing/Executive Partner, CEO Scott Trout explained the reasoning behind the firm’s move into Richmond.
“We had offices elsewhere in Virginia and what we’ve noticed is that we got a lot of requests from Richmond,” he said.
Mr. Trout also explained the firm’s origins, which started in the early 1990s after the firm represented a husband and father in an international custody dispute.
“We really saw an opportunity where we could focus on just one thing, just family law, and one area – representing guys,” Mr. Trout said. “That was the one gaping hole.”
