Cordell & Cordell Atlanta divorce attorney Diona Potter has been selected to the 2016 Georgia Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers Magazine. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.
Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional development.
Ms. Potter, who is an associate attorney in Cordell & Cordell’s Atlanta office, was named to the list for the fourth consecutive year. She also received a Legal Elite award in 2012 and 2013.
She earned her Juris Doctor and graduated valedictorian from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School after receiving her Bachelor of Science from Georgia State University.
The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.
Lawyers are asked to nominate the best attorneys who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. They are instructed to nominate lawyers they have personally observed in action — whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through other firsthand courtroom observation.
