Cordell & Cordell Atlanta divorce attorneys Kevin Mammola and Diona Potter were recently named Georgia Rising Stars in the family law practice area by Super Lawyers Magazine.
Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional development. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive the distinction.
Ms. Potter, who is an associate attorney, was named to the list for the fifth consecutive year. She earned her Juris Doctor and graduated valedictorian from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.
Mr. Mammola, who is a litigation manager, received the honor for the first time. He received his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law.
The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.
Lawyers are asked to nominate the best attorneys who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. They are instructed to nominate lawyers they have personally observed in action — whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through other firsthand courtroom observation.
The Super Lawyers lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyers Magazine and in leading city and regional magazines and newspapers across the country. For more information about Super Lawyers, visit SuperLawyers.com.
