An evolving area of family law involves fights over the pets in a divorce and who gets custody. Cordell & Cordell principal partner Joseph Cordell appeared on 700 WLW radio in Cincinnati with host Scott Sloan to discuss pet custody and related issues of asset and property division.
While pet custody battles are becoming more popular, judges still have no concrete standard to apply to determine custody or possession of a pet, even though pets are treated as property in a divorce, according to Mr. Cordell.
