Every divorce is unique and the circumstances of each case will affect how long the process lasts. Each case can include several different stages.

  • Divorce Petitions

To obtain a divorce, you must first petition a court for a judgment of divorce.

  • Discovery

The process of gathering information to help build and strengthen your case.

  • Settlement

Cases often settle on the day of the trial and sometimes even during the trial.

  • Trial

Less than 5 percent of all divorces go to trial, but this figure varies significantly based on factors such as salary, length of marriage, and the wife’s occupation.
