Growing up, Louisville divorce attorney Lindsay Porter wanted to be a victim advocate. She always desired to help others.
Through her criminal justice education at the University of St. Thomas, she discovered her love for the law and decided to pursue law school in hopes of becoming a prosecutor.
It wasn’t until law school that she worked in a prominent family law firm in town. Through her experience clerking in family law, she discovered the innate ability to talk to people.
“Family law allows me to combine my interests in advocacy and in law in one rewarding career,” Ms. Porter said. “I am able to litigate important issues, serving as both the advocate and the lawyer for my clients.”
With every client, Ms. Porter maintains transparency so that the client keeps realistic expectations.
“I have been praised by previous employers for my unique ability to talk to anybody,” she said. “I like being the person that people will call when they are in need. I rely on my resources and get the answers that people are seeking.
“I enjoy helping others in a time when they need it most.”
