Growing up, Milwaukee divorce attorney Aleina McGettrick learned from her family to always help others when they are in need. That lesson evolved into a personal goal during her childhood and into adulthood.
“The desire to help others has always been a driving force in my life and is the main factor in why I chose to pursue my legal degree,” Ms. McGettrick said.
During her time in law school, she had the opportunity to intern with a nonprofit family law firm in Milwaukee and that experience opened her eyes to the many ways that she could continue to help people through family lay.
“Because family law involves some of the most difficult times in a person’s life, it is incredibly meaningful to serve as counsel for our clients and help them through these times,” she said.
Ms. McGettick believes that truly listening to someone’s issues or what they are going through is a trait that is one of the most important to have in practicing law. Many times, when people are going through a difficult time, they want to make sure their concerns are being heard, addressed, and taken care of.
“Therefore, it is my goal to simply listen to my clients, process their issues, and strategize on how to best advocate on their behalf,” she said.
No matter how simple or complicated the matter, Ms. McGettrick works with her clients side by side, keeping them well informed in their case, and ensuring that their cases are handled efficiently.
“Although these are difficult times my clients may be going through, it is my job to get them through those times by working with them to the best of my abilities,” she said.
