Two Cordell & Cordell Georgia divorce attorneys recently received recognition from Super Lawyers Magazine, a Thomson Reuters rating service of outstanding lawyers.
Marietta divorce attorney Diona Potter was named to the Super Lawyers list while Atlanta divorce lawyer Kevin Mammola was recognized as a Georgia Rising Star in family law.
This is the fourth consecutive year Mr. Mammola has received the honor. Ms. Potter was named a Rising Star from 2013-2018 before being selected to the list of Super Lawyers this year.
Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding attorneys from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional development. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive the distinction.
Ms. Potter, who is a senior litigation attorney with Cordell & Cordell, received her Juris Doctor from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, where she graduated valedictorian. Previously, she was named to the Georgia Trend Legal Elite in 2013-2014 and 2016-2017, and she received AVVO’s Client Choice Award in 2017. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association.
Mr. Mammola, who is a Litigation Manager for the firm, earned his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law.
The annual Super Lawyer selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.
For the Rising Stars list, lawyers are asked to nominate the best attorneys who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing law for 10 years or less.
