Super LawyersThree Cordell & Cordell New Jersey divorce attorneys were recently selected as Rising Stars in the family law practice area by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters rating service of outstanding lawyers.

Mount Laurel divorce lawyer Michelle L. Ferreri received the distinction for the 10th time while Lauren Hagovsky (Mount Laurel) and Diana Megalla (East Brunswick) earned the award for the second consecutive year.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding attorneys from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional development. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive the distinction.

In addition to being recognized as a Rising Star 10 times, Ms. Ferreri has previously been named to South Jersey Magazine’s list of “Awesome Attorneys” 11 times and has been listed on the magazine’s list of Best Family Law Attorneys twice. In 2016, she was named to the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys’ list of 10 Best Attorneys Under 40 for Client Satisfaction and made the organization’s list of 10 Best Female Attorneys for Client Satisfaction. She is a member of the Thomas S. Forkin American Inn of Court and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Ms. Hagovsky has previously been named to South Jersey Magazine’s list of “Awesome Attorneys” and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Gloucester County Bar Association, the Burlington County Bar Association, the Camden County Bar Association, and the Thomas S. Forkin American Inn of Court. She received her Juris Doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Ms. Megalla is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Middlesex County Bar Association.

The annual Super Lawyer selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive, and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.

For the Rising Stars List, lawyers are asked to nominate the best attorneys who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing law for 10 years or less. They are instructed to nominate lawyers they have personally observed in action – whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through other firsthand courtroom observation.

The Super Lawyers lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyers Magazine and in leading city and regional magazines and newspapers across the country.
