Cordell & Cordell Tennessee divorce attorneys Kimberly Gray and Katie Zipper were recently named to the 2016 Mid-South Rising Stars list in the family law practice area by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters rating service of outstanding lawyers.
Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in each state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.
Ms. Gray, who is a Practice Manager in the firm’s Franklin office, received the distinction for the third consecutive year. She was also recognized earlier this year by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys as one of the 10 Best Under 40 for Client Satisfaction.
Ms. Zipper, who is a senior attorney in the Franklin office, received the honor for the first time. She was previously named to the Pro Bono Honor Roll by the Tennessee Bar Association; earned the Silver Pen Award from the Tennessee Law Review; and received the Charles H. Miller Excellence in Civil Advocacy Award, the Academic Excellence in Civil Advocacy Award, and the Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.
Lawyers are asked to nominate the best attorneys who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. They are instructed to nominate lawyers they have personally observed in action — whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through other firsthand courtroom observation.
