Cordell & Cordell, along with its sponsored sites Dads Divorce and Men’s Divorce, presents a news video for the week of April 17, 2015.

This week, Cordell & Cordell opened a new office in Hendersonville, Tenn. The office, which is the firm’s fifth in Tennessee and 13th new office in 2015, is part of Cordell & Cordell’s continuing expansion to broaden opportunities for divorcing dads to gain information and counsel.

Dads Divorce added a new article detailing how the recent shooting death of Walter Scott by a South Carolina police officer has exposed how harshly the state punishes parents for missing child support payments.

It is believed that Scott was fleeing from the officer because of a bench warrant out for his arrest for missed payments at the time of the shooting. Facts about the incident will take months to uncover, numerous studies have already shown how the state’s child support system drives many parents into desperate situations.

Men’s Divorce posted the second of a two-part series by Indiana family law attorney Kimberly McCabe reviewing everything you need to know about mediation.

Usually, mediation involves a meeting between both parties, their attorneys and a neutral third-party mediator.

The couple can reach a complete settlement, a partial settlement or no settlement during mediation.
