Francis J. Murphy, III is a Partner of Cordell & Cordell, practicing exclusively in the area of domestic relations.

Mr. Murphy is known in the community for handling very complex financial domestic relations cases involving closely held corporations and trusts. He has been on the forefront of battling heated custody cases involving allegations of physical, sexual and emotional abuse. Many of his cases have involved dealing with children with special needs, relocation issues and parent alienation. Mr. Murphy has fought cases at the Missouri Court of Appeals and Missouri Supreme Court.

He is licensed in the State of Missouri and the U.S. District Court - Western District of Missouri. He is a member of the American Bar Association's Trial Advocacy training for domestic practitioners and was just elected Vice President of Lawyers for Kids. In addition to his memberships, he is a frequent speaker at Continuing Legal Education programs on a variety of topics in the field of domestic relations. In 2010, Mr. Murphy presented the topic, "What is a Guardian Ad Litem and How Should I Proceed With One?" at the Cordell & Cordell CLE Seminar.

He received his Juris Doctorate in 1991 from St. Louis University School of Law and his B.A. (magna cum laude) from St. Louis University in 1988.
