Erica Christian is an Associate Attorney in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin office of Cordell & Cordell,  Ms. Christian is licensed to practice law in the state of Wisconsin. Ms. Christian received her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication as well as her Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin, graduating with academic distinction.

While in law school, Ms. Christian worked with the Criminal Appeals Project, the Unemployment Appeals Clinic and Mock Trial, while being an attendee of the Lavender Law Conference. She also provided Hurricane Katrina relief through the Mississippi Center for Justice and was a Judicial Intern with the District IV Court of Appeals. Ms. Christian also tried cases as a Student Practice Attorney for the Dane County District Attorneys Office.

Prior to joining Cordell & Cordell, she was a Family Law and Children’s Law Litigator. Her experience included: working with divorce and paternity actions, post-judgment actions, guardianships, Child in Need of Protection or Services actions, Domestic Abuse and Harassment Restraining Orders, and enforcement of orders through contempt.

Ms. Christian is a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association, including the Family Law and Children’s Law Sections. She was a private bar intake attorney with the Milwaukee County Children’s Court. Also, Ms. Christian is a Guardian ad Litem and has experience in same-sex and domestic partnership litigation.
