Hartford CourantCordell & Cordell’s ongoing expansion efforts were recently covered in an article published in the Hartford Courant.

The article featured quotes from Cordell & Cordell Executive/Managing Partner, CEO Scott Trout and Associate Attorney Phyllis L. MacCutcheon about why the firm expanded to Connecticut and why the firm chooses to focus on representing men and fathers in divorce.

“We saw huge traffic in Connecticut from guys seeking our services, or just asking for advice in their own cases,” Mr. Trout said. “The reality is that men face the same issues with these cases, whether here or any other state.”

Cordell & Cordell opened its first office in Hartford (100 Pearl St., 14th Floor, Hartford, CT 06103) earlier this month marking the firm’s seventh new office in 2017. Ms. MacCutcheon is currently staffing the Hartford office.

“… When there’s a divorce, you don’t see the fathers keeping custody of the kids and the mom’s not having custody of the kids,” Ms. MacCutcheon said. “So the dynamic of the breadwinners has shifted, but the custody piece hasn’t shifted with the times.”
