A Pennsylvania facility that prints child support checks for the Florida Department of Revenue was closed when Hurricane Irene recently caused flooding to the property, causing a delay in the delivery of approximately 11,300 payments, the Land O’ Lakes Patch reports.

Delays were experienced for payments to be received September 8, 9 and 12. But the Pasco County Clerk of the Circuit Court assured families that the child support checks were put in the mail on Monday evening and should be arriving shortly, according to the news source.

Any residents who did not receive their child support checks are asked to contact the clerk’s office. There is no standard time frame associated with these payments, as checks are processed when payments are received from non-custodial parents. Typically, this process takes just one day, but the hurricane that ravaged the east coast delayed the program slightly, Renee Watters of the Florida Department of Revenue (FDR) told the publication.

According to the FDR, custodial parents can access case information and other important data from the agency’s website, while non-custodial parents are now able to make payments online to expedite the child support process.
